The World Traditional Medicine Forum
The World Traditional Medicine Forum was established in September 2015 and registered in the Netherlands. The forum’s fundamental goal is to “unite traditional medicine professionals from around the world and comprehensively promote the development of traditional medicine.” It has brought together over 10,000 traditional medicine colleagues from more than 80 countries and regions on five continents, and has developed into an internationally influential organization in the field of traditional medicine.
The World Federation of Chinese Medicine Services

Nederlandse Vereniging voor Acupunctuur (NVA) / Dutch Acupuncture Association
The Nederlandse Vereniging voor Acupunctuur (NVA), founded in 1977, is the largest and most influential TCM organization in the Netherlands.
Our vision and mission are to represent and safeguard the interests of our members by continuously promoting and monitoring the quality, reliability, and professionalism of acupuncture practice, with the health and well-being of patients at the core. At the same time, we are committed to increasing recognition, knowledge, and public awareness of acupuncture as a respected medical treatment in the Netherlands.
Of our 1,041 practitioners, about half hold at least 64 ECTS credits in Medical Basic Knowledge alongside an approved TCM diploma; the other half have a bachelor-level medical education combined with an approved TCM diploma.
We actively participate in collaborative discussions with other organizations in TCM and complementary medicine, insurance companies, quality institutes, and government bodies.
Dutch Association for Chinese Traditional Medicine (NVTCG ZHONG)
NVTCG Zhong is the Dutch Association for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), established in 1993 as the professional association for therapists with a completed HBO education in the field of TCM. The association holds its members to high standards, prioritizing quality and care in practice. Zhong actively encourages its members to pursue continuous professional development, ensuring that those seeking treatment from a Zhong-affiliated therapist receive care from a well-trained TCM practitioner.
Zhong is dedicated not only to professionally trained therapists but also to individuals interested in learning more about Chinese medicine.
